“When the Forest Burns, They Arrest the Firefighters”

Disclaimer (snarky & legal) This is a work of satire. No actual firefighters were harmed in the making of this rant. Any resemblance between authoritarian policy and reality is, unfortunately, reality’s fault.

Alright, folks, gather round. Because apparently, when the country’s on fire, the real emergency isn’t the flames, the smoke, or the towns about to get swallowed — it’s firefighters with the wrong immigration status.

That’s right. The Bear Gulch wildfire in Washington State: 400 people busting their asses to keep homes from becoming charcoal briquettes… and Border Patrol swoops in to check papers.

This isn’t firefighting. This is fire-fascism.

You’ve got hand crews sweating, choking, breaking their backs against a wall of flame — and mid-shift, they’re told: “Line up. Show ID. Hands where we can see them.”

One firefighter cuffed. Others warned not to film. Because nothing says “we’re here to help” like arresting the people keeping your house from burning down.

And let’s not forget — Biden-era rules said no raids at disaster sites without “exigent circumstances.” But apparently, “exigent” now means brown guy with a Pulaski axe.

This is the Trump playbook in miniature:

  • Step One: Turn every public service into a checkpoint. Schools, hospitals, FEMA shelters, wildfire camps — all fair game.
  • Step Two: Redefine “emergency” as “immigration problem.”
  • Step Three: Let the actual emergencies burn.

Because the goal isn’t safety. It’s spectacle. They want you to see people dragged off in handcuffs while the treeline glows orange. That’s the show. That’s the warning. That’s the promise: “We can do this anywhere, anytime, to anyone.”

And here’s the kicker: this wasn’t an accident. This wasn’t a rogue agent going cowboy. The Incident Management Team confirmed it: they were “aware of a Border Patrol operation.”

So the feds knew damn well they were pulling bodies off a fire line during an inferno. And they did it anyway.

This isn’t “law and order.”

This isn’t “border security.”

This is arson by bureaucracy.

So let’s spell it out:

When the flames rise, when the air chokes, when the land itself begs for help — this government’s priority isn’t putting out the fire.

It’s putting out people.

🔥 Welcome to September. In Trump’s America, the country can burn to the ground, so long as the cages stay full.
